Dear Colleagues,

With immense pleasure we announce that the 14th National Conference of Indian Association Epidemiologists 7th & 8th March 2025 at NCDC, 22-Sham Nath Marg, Delhi 110054. The Theme chosen for The Conference is Epidemiology in Public Health for Viksit Bharat by 2047”.

The Conference promises to be a vibrant event with rich learning opportunities with plethora of scientific sessions by renowned Epidemiologists & Experts. Topics covered will include Disease Surveillance, Public health Emergencis, Environmental Health, Capacity Building including Field Epidemiology Training Programmes, International Health, National health Programmes, One Health, etc.

It is with great pleasure and privilege that, We invite you all to participate in IAECON 2025.

In addition there is post conference workshop on 9th March 2025 on the topic “ Mathematical modelling of infectious diseases with outbreak potential".

It is expected during this conference around 300 experts will be attend from the field of Epidemiology, Public Health, Policy Makers and Researchers.

The event will be an informative gathering of experts and valuable opportunity to discuss the advances in the field of public health and improve public health outcomes in India.

About Us

Indian Association of Epidemiologists (IAE) was established in the year 1993. Presently, the Association is having a total membership of around 600 qualified Epidemiologists from all over the country.

Following are the objectives of the Association: -

  1. To work for promotion and strengthening of Epidemiological Services in India.
  2. To produce and disseminate technical materials.
  3. To co-ordinate epidemiological research in India.
  4. To promote the career prospects of epidemiologists at Centre and State levels.

The IAE works in collaboration with the Government especially various National Health Programmes. In the past, the Association supported activities under National Leprosy Eradication Programme, National Programme for Prevention and Control of Deafness, Department of Community Medicine, VMMC & Safdarjung Hospital, National Centre for Disease Control etc.

Frequently asked questions

There are three types of epidemiological studies.
  • Descriptive epidemiology (studies patterns of disease in populations)
  • Analytical epidemiology (examines causes and risk factors)
  • Experimental epidemiology (tests interventions, such as vaccines)
  • By using surveillance systems, case reports, and data analysis, epidemiologists try to identify the causes and outbreaks of the disease. They analyze patterns, risk factors, and sources of infections to curb the disease among the population.
    Epidemiology helps to design public health policies and various prevention programs, guide vaccination campaigns, and respond to what advisories should be taken in health emergencies like pandemics.
    The core objective of the medicine division is to diagnose and treat patients for different diseases. Epidemiologists try to find out the trends in populations to curb the disease and improve overall public health.
    Our organization arranges state-of-the-art training programs, seminars, consultations, discussions and expert talks.
